Today I did a quick experiment for our game character, in which me and my group James and Zaynah had modeled our player character from plasticine.

Hand made model of game character

After our time working on this character design, I then worked on experimenting on setting up this model to photograph and scan. To do this I used the green screen room, in which we were able to get pretty decent lighting. As well the layout of the background and contrast between the background and character allowed the scan to work quick and effectively.

To do all of the scan stuff I used Agisoft Photoscan. This tool is incredibly powerful the difference in the background and blue of the character model made it very easy for the software to differentiate the background and foreground. This made the process of making a game character model very efficient.

This was the result. This is the retopologized mesh in Zbrush, it looks a little rough but is very accurate to the scan and carries of the detail we required to fulfill our player character design.
