Today we had thought of our game, and looked at some inspirations, we determined that we wanted to approach the dark topic of domestic violence in which we want to indirectly promote healthy solutions to New Zealand's high rate of domestic violence. We wanted to take it from the child's perspective to make to create a confused perspective to allow people to understand how a child would respond to indirect verbal abuse.
We wanted to create a relatable character as well that would allow the player to empathies with them and the other people on the world.
After that we found some inspiration, our biggest inspiration was a game called Inside.

The game Inside is a great game that was made by the team that made Limbo, it's a game that works in a 2d movement platformer with puzzles and is built with a 3d assets and environments.
This game follows a young hero who ventures inside a factory to understand the life inside a factory in which workers are drones, and your goal is to set them free. But this film doesn't have a single line of dialogue and manages to cover ideas of misconceptions and the idea of work and labour in our future in a environmentally driven narrative in which you solve puzzles and have interactions with the environment and level to experience these idea. I think that this game is great and a good inspiration because they achieve something huge with very little and it shows how the players engagement drives narrative and that the player can figure out and experience a journey. The outcome of this create a experience that for the player has a greater effect in which they relate to the narrative and ideas as they are given the oppotunity to relate the character the game rather than get given perspectives of the characters which allows people to create greater meaning and have a deeper engagement. This is the way I intend to appraoch the game with our team we dont want to tell the narrative we want the player to engage in the world and understand the ideas so that they relate to it better in hopes to promote a healthier relationships and have empathie for our characters.
